Adult & elderly Initially 5 mg/day in the evening (prior to retiring). Dose can be increased to 10 mg/day after at least 4-6 wk of clinical assessment of treatment at 5 mg/day. Max: 10 mg/day.
Sick-sinus syndrome, supraventricular cardiac conduction conditions, history of ulcer disease or those receiving concurrent NSAIDs, history of asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Lactation.
Anaesth, ketoconazole, quinidine, itraconazole, erythromycin, fluoxetine, rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, alcohol, medications w/ anticholinergic activity, succinylcholine, other neuromuscular blockers or cholinergic agonists or β-blockers which have effects on cardiac conduction.
